As the seasons begin to change and the umbrellas come out, the risk of flooding increases. Some insurers are now including Flood cover as an incentive to insure with them, whereas other insurers will only provide this cover as an option, if at all.

Where coverage is present, insurance policies will normally respond to Flood claims where water has escaped or been released from a lake, creek, river, or a natural watercourse – but it is important to doublecheck the specifics within the policy document to ensure coverage is in place.
